Our mission is to help Arctic scientists and rural educators
properly engage with Indigenous communities
Ikaaġun
Ikaaġun is the Iñupiat word for bridge, or "something used for going across."
Cross-cultural communication and relationship-building is challenging.
Ikaaġun Engagement is here to help.
ENGAGEMENT with INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES
All visitors to rural Arctic communities should carefully plan and prepare for their engagement experiences while in Alaska. In 2021, Arctic researchers and rural educators are required to make meaningful efforts to properly engage with Indigenous individuals, communities, and entities.
